Hatsu Toshitsugu was born beneath the light of the Crimson Moon in the coastal city of Saigo no Toshi. The supposed first son of Hashirama Toshitsugu and Kokoro Toshitsugu, Hatsu was raised within the strict martial traditions of the Toshitsugu Clan. From an early age he displayed unusual perception and discipline, including the rare ability to see in darkness, a gift believed to be tied to his birth beneath the crimson omen.

His training followed the lineage of his family. Under his grandfather Sasaki Toshitsugu, Hatsu first learned to control his Ki and cultivate clarity of mind through the teachings of the Sakushin Ryu. His father later taught him the physical mastery of Gyokushin Ryu, pushing his endurance, reflexes, and strength beyond ordinary limits. Finally, his mother Kokoro, a disciple of the divine warrior Sosa no wo no Mikoto. She trained him in the sword art of Shinden Fudo Ryu and the philosophy of the blade.

Hatsu left his home to pursue deeper understanding, retreating into the wilderness to meditate and master the harmony between breath, body, and the elements. During this isolation he encountered the celestial being who appeared in the form of a golden bee. Impressed by Hatsu’s discipline and sincerity, the divine observer guided his spiritual journey and promised to watch over his path.

Years later Hatsu returned to Saigo no Toshi only to find his clan in crisis. His mother’s legendary sword, Onimaru, had been stolen. Without hesitation he accepted the command to recover it and punish those responsible. Joined by his adopted brother and closest ally Boreal Paleclaw, Hatsu set out on the search—a journey that soon entangled them with forces far greater than a stolen heirloom, including encounters with the terrifying Raze Threats and the mysterious intervention of Maleficum's Arcanum of Magic & Might.

Disciplined, loyal, and guided by a powerful sense of honour, Hatsu walks the world as both warrior and seeker. His mission began as a duty to his family, but it has grown into something larger—a path that may shape the fate of Saigo no Toshi and the balance of power across Arraness.
