Born beneath the crimson glow of a wandering moon and found abandoned in the forests outside Saigo no Toshi, Boreal was taken in by the Toshitsugu clan and raised as one of their own. What began as an act of mercy became something deeper. The quiet owlet grew into the city’s unseen guardian, patrolling its rooftops and forests through the long hours of night while others slept.

Though not born to the clan, Boreal found a brother in Hatsu Toshitsugu. Their bond was forged through training, loyalty, and survival. One encounter with a monstrous Raze Threat nearly ended both their lives, and only the intervention of a mage from Maleficum’s Arcanum of Magic & Might saved them. That moment changed Boreal forever. He decided that he would never again be the one who needed saving.

His path eventually led him to the Arcanum itself, where he began to study magic alongside warriors, scholars, and outcasts who would become his closest allies. What began as training soon became something far more dangerous. Ancient relics, forgotten powers, and conspiracies stretching across the Isles drew Boreal and his companions into conflicts that reached far beyond the walls of the academy.

When war came to Saigo no Toshi, Boreal returned to the city that had given him a home. The siege that followed shattered much of what he once knew. Friends were lost. Leaders fell. The city itself was left wounded and uncertain of its future.

Now Boreal walks a path between magic and steel. No longer just a watcher in the dark, he seeks the strength to stand at the centre of the storm — protecting the people and places he loves from the forces gathering across the Wandering Isles.

Because once before he was saved.

He does not intend to need saving again.
