Hatsu visits Boreal and introduces himself to Dr. Harrow, thanking her for aiding Boreal in controlling his magic. He also checks in with Ayame, who has taken over Boreal's investigations, ensuring the search for truth continues. Slate delves into his memories, meticulously constructing a board to organize his theories and insights, aiming to transform his scattered knowledge into coherent guides.
Weslyn builds a secluded hut in the woods, immersing himself in books and contemplating a journey to the mountains, driven by a sense of urgency due to his changing age. Amaedrianna follows Dr. Harrow and discovers her creating plant-shaped human abominations. She quickly informs Slate of this disturbing find.
Dash attempts to sneak into Harrow's bunker but has an awkward encounter with her, ultimately failing to gain entry. Ayame confides in Hatsu, who then involves Remington in the investigation. Harrow, in a surprising turn, teaches Hatsu how to make more potent smoke bombs before leaving. Suspicious of the moving plants, Hatsu asks Ayame to keep watch over them.
Slate and Weslyn begin their ascent of the mountain, with Weslyn silently driven by the fear that his changing age might not afford him another opportunity. Dash, in an unexpected twist, bumps into Emilia Harrow and begins to form a bond with her. Meanwhile, Lysa Sablewood is called on the TeleStone by Dash, hinting at further developments to come.
