Unbeknownst to Lysa, who encounters strangers in the dark passages and departs without detecting Amaedrianna, her actions ignite a chain of suspenseful events. Amaedrianna continues to shadow the enigmatic figures lurking within the walls.
Elsewhere, Dash engages in a strategic discussion with a teacher aimed at enhancing his stealth abilities, a skill that soon proves crucial. Meanwhile, Lysa gathers the group, sans Amaedrianna, for a heartfelt conversation, revealing her internal conflict about dragging the group into her chaotic world and expressing her readiness to either leave for their safety or deepen their involvement with her schemes.
As the evening draws to a close, the tension escalates when the mysterious men Amaedrianna has been following make a sinister move. A swift and deadly confrontation ensues, with Amaedrianna taking decisive action against one assailant. Dash joins her in pursuit of the second, leading to a dramatic capture and subsequent interrogation back at their room. The morality of their actions comes under scrutiny as they grapple with the consequences of their decisions.
The episode reaches a grim climax as Hatsu, stepping into a role of brutal necessity, ends the interrogation by severing ties—and the head—of their captive. The group solemnly disposes of the bodies in a spiritually significant area of the woods, a sombre act that unites them in their darkest hour.
Amidst these harrowing events, personal stakes rise when Hatsu discovers his brother Boreal's illness. Recognizing the poison from the blades used by their foes, Hatsu's quick thinking and intimate knowledge of toxins save his brother's life, weaving a poignant thread of familial bonds through the night's darker undertones.
