The Wandering Isles: Session 9
After the Fireball
Hatsu spoke about the importance of tradition as the group faced the consequences of Boreal’s attack. The fireball had injured people in the crowd, leaving them burned and covered in dirt.
Weslyn teleported to tackle Boreal out of the sky. Dash pulled Eos to safety, then helped Weslyn try to restrain him. When Weslyn headbutted Boreal, Hatsu struck Weslyn unconscious. Amaedrianna threw a dagger at Hatsu. He retaliated and missed, before Slate knocked him unconscious as well.
The group tended their wounds. Hatsu and Boreal were placed in cells. Slate panicked as he left the prison area, and Amaedrianna tried to understand what had upset him. Eos went to check on Duckie.
Dreams and Doubts
Weslyn summoned food for Dash and spoke about his tattoos growing darker. He described the witch who appeared in his dreams and another dream in which he had been a cloud, blocking warmth from those below. With time seeming to pass quickly and danger increasing, he wanted to sleep in the woods.
Dash discovered that Lysa was missing. The group met again at the cells to discuss what should happen next. Slate and Amaedrianna said they might leave the school if Hatsu and Boreal stayed. Eos described an experience resembling Boreal’s, suggesting that his attack might be part of something wider.
A Hearing to Come
Weslyn sought quiet in the woods, where a bee landed on his knee. The group resolved that a court should determine Hatsu’s fate and address what the incident meant for the Arcanum.
Dash and Amaedrianna discussed the Crisis Response Unit’s treatment of magical people and how that prejudice related to their present situation. Amaedrianna researched the crimson moon and the story of The Unnamed One.
Slate prepared to leave. Hatsu spent a quiet moment with Chicken as the school waited for the hearing.
