Inside the Walls
Amaedrianna followed Lysa through the tunnels inside the Arcanum’s walls. Lysa met strangers in the passages and left without noticing her. Amaedrianna stayed behind to follow the men.
Elsewhere, Dash spoke with a teacher about improving his stealth. Lysa gathered the rest of the group and admitted her concern about drawing them into danger. She was prepared to leave to protect them, but also offered them a choice about further involvement in her plans.
The Captive
The men Amaedrianna had followed made their move later that evening. She killed one attacker. Dash joined her in pursuing the other, and they captured him and took him back to their room for questioning.
The interrogation divided the group over what they were doing and what it would make them responsible for. Hatsu ended it by beheading the captive. They took the bodies into a spiritually significant part of the woods and disposed of them there.
Boreal’s Illness
Hatsu discovered that his brother was ill. He recognised the poison used on the attackers’ blades and acted in time to save Boreal.
The attack was over, but the group were left with its consequences: the danger inside the school, their part in the killings, and the knowledge that Boreal had also been targeted.
