The Wandering Isles: Session 18 - Recap
In the latest session of "The Wandering Isles," our adventurers continue their journey of discovery, dealing with lingering threats and uncovering hidden truths within their world.
The session begins with Hatsu and Ayame discussing the attack she recently endured. They speculate on the potential threats lurking in the shadows and whether these dangers are still present now that Dr. Harrow has been removed from the island. Ayame expresses concern that a creature may be wandering without command, while Hatsu remains cautious, believing an investigation is necessary to ensure no threats remain.
Meanwhile, Eos and Weslyn share a quiet moment together, reflecting on the stars and the vast universe above them. Their conversation touches on deeper themes, providing a moment of calm and introspection.
In another part of the Arcanum, Hatsu and Amaedrianna engage in a more personal conversation, revealing intimate details about their pasts. In a gesture of trust and respect, Hatsu shares something deeply personal, to which Amaedrianna responds by showing her face—something only a select few have ever seen.
The group, motivated to uncover more about Ayame's attacker, sets out to investigate the area. They discover large footprints that lead them to believe a dangerous creature is nearby. Dividing into pairs—Hatsu with Ayame, Dash with Lysa, Amaedrianna with Slate—they search for clues while Eos reflects on the recent events, grappling with her fear of potentially losing Weslyn.
During their search, they are approached by Marcus Thorne, a new security guard at the school, who arrives with multiple duplicates of himself to ensure the group's safety. However, before he can help further, Marcus is unexpectedly attacked from behind.
The group soon faces a creature known as Gorebound, a menacing figure clearly on a mission. Dash quickly uses his wit to deceive the creature, avoiding an immediate confrontation. Through this conversation, they learn that Gorebound's true name is Adrian Voss, and he comes from Penzance. Adrian reveals he is a prisoner, bound to Dr. Harrow, and driven by a need to find his master before his anger consumes him.
With compassion and strategy, the group decides that Gorebound should return to his origins in Penzance. In a bold move, they agree to accompany him on this journey. The session concludes with the group arriving in Penzance, ready to navigate the next chapter of their adventure.
Stay tuned for what happens next as the group continues to unravel the mysteries of "The Wandering Isles," where each step uncovers new layers of intrigue and danger.
