The Wandering Isles: Session 17 - Recap

In this eventful session of "The Wandering Isles," our adventurers face a mix of revelations, confrontations, and deep introspection.

Ayame reveals that she was attacked from behind during a recent encounter, prompting Eos to take her to the medical ward for treatment. Meanwhile, Amaedrianna receives an old leather-bound book from Remington to aid her studies. She moves to the trees near Weslyn's spot and begins experimenting with the book’s powers, creating a small, perfectly white crow with a damaged wing, which she names. Weslyn, not entirely pleased about having a new neighbour, continues his own mysterious activities.

Dash approaches Remington to discuss Ayame's attack. Concerned for Boreal's safety, Remington moves him to Hatsu’s room and swiftly removes Dr. Harrow from the island, while also contacting the Crisis Response Unit.

Meanwhile, Slate and Eos embark on a quest to learn more about the gods and their own identities, delving into the ancient histories of divine beings. Slate, still in possession of a mysterious book, decides to let it communicate with Eos. The book speaks, asking for only one thing: death. In exchange, it offers Slate a glimpse into his past, revealing that his true name is Elias Holt. He relives a vivid memory of his childhood, standing in the presence of his mother, while the book reveals its own name, Vathros.

As the group prepares for the night, they are haunted by dreams. Eos dreams of Weslyn, seeing him slowly fade as the grip of winter takes hold, while Weslyn dreams of the first snow of winter and makes his way to Eos's room to find solace. Under the cold night sky, they share tea and watch the stars, a moment of quiet kindness amid the chaos.

Meanwhile, Hatsu finds Ayame, still shaken and concerned about the monster that attacked her, and realizes that danger still looms over their journey. As night falls, the group knows that these recent events are only the beginning of the challenges they will face, both from within and beyond their own ranks.
