The Wandering Isles - Session 52
Before crossing into unknown territory, the group takes a moment to rest—setting up camp beneath the whispering trees of a forest that feels anything but still.
While some tend to the fire, others seek out food. What starts as a simple hunt becomes… strange. Unnatural behavior from familiar creatures leads to a tense encounter that’s as bizarre as it is dangerous. There’s laughter, of course—but it’s edged with unease. And across the river? Something watches.
As night deepens, unease begins to layer. Tension bubbles between companions, old questions are raised, and dreams turn prophetic. One of them finds herself swept into a vision unlike any she’s seen before—an encounter with someone unexpected, a figure both new and ancient, familiar and forgotten. Warnings are whispered between flickers of time and memory.
Others wrestle with symbols, omens, and the slow drip of exhaustion. There are red eyes in the dark. Footprints that shouldn’t be there. Stories from childhood that feel a little too close. Something is circling—not just around their camp, but around each of them.
And still, the journey continues.
But as the group moves on, they leave something behind. Not just the camp, not just the clearing—but a trail.
One that’s already being followed.
