The Wandering Isles - Session 43

This week, the journey pressed onward, carrying the group from quiet reflection to new beginnings.

In a space between waking and dreaming, Hatsu found himself reliving a moment of serenity—until the illusion gave way and he emerged from the strange magic of the Seal. In his place, Eos stepped forward, taking on the weight of the spell with a steady resolve. Her time passed differently, spent in study and solitude, before she too returned.

Back at the Arcanum, Dash took a quiet moment to speak with Remington Maleficum, and what he said left no room for misinterpretation. If answers weren’t given freely, he would take them by force. Some threats burn quiet—and some burn deep.

Later that night, a gift exchanged between companions reminded them of where they were headed, and why. Saigo no Toshi lay ahead, and with it, the weight of tradition, expectation, and celebration.

At the stables, Eos prepared her steed for the road ahead. But it was Eldrin who found something unexpected—something celestial. A bond was formed, one not entirely of this world, and a secret within his bloodline began to stir.

The next morning, goodbyes gave way to preparation, and soon they were on the water—headed east. As the ship glided past volcanic shores and familiar homes, the group passed the time with questions that led to answers of a different kind. Not just about the world, but about one another.

And then, the city revealed itself.

Not with fanfare, but with quiet wonder.

Cherry blossoms on the tide. Lanterns in the dusk. Towers watching from the cliffs.

Saigo no Toshi welcomed them not as strangers, but as something more.

The next chapter begins there.
