Game of Thrones Season 5 Trailer Released

To spite several leaks over the last few weeks, HBO have finally officially launched the trailer for the highly anticipated season 5 of Game of Thrones on their Facebook page.

Accompanying this trailer was some information regarding the future of the show and books. Trying to get the bad news out of the way early on in the year, George RR Martin’s publisher for A Song of Ice and Fire, HarperCollins, has officially confirmed that no, 2015 would not see the release of The Winds of Winter, the long-awaited sixth book in the series. Even though they tried very hard to promote a series of Westerosi prequel novellas being released, the simple fact remains, HBO’s Game of Thrones will end long before Martin ever finishes writing his story.

This now means that the show will end sooner than the books, which will cause some frustration for the book fans, but this will be a cause for celebration for the fans of only the show.

HBO have made a statement regarding Season 5. That and the trailer can be seen below.
