Top 5 Quick-Fix Games

I'm going to run down my top 5 perfect phone games for killing some time on those lengthy bus journeys, waiting rooms and general boredom! Disagree with my choices? Let me know your top 5 in the comment section!

5: Where's My Water?: A cute little game that Disney released. The primary objective is to get the water from one point to a sad crocodile waiting to have a shower by removing dirt to form a path. You use your finger to form a path to direct your very limited amounts of water. When you make a mistake you will have to go back to the start but don't let that discourage you, it is highly addictive! As the game progresses there will be more challenges and obstacles in the way a long with many objects to find in the dirt! You can get a free version or a paid version, Obviously the paid version has more benefits but if you wish to try it first then the demo is the way to go! It loses a lot of points due to it's repeatative nature!

4: Draw Something: I have done a review for Draw Something which you can see by clicking here! It is a very addictive game with a simple idea; you draw something! It gives you 3 words to choose from and you must pick one and draw a picture to explain what the word says and your friends must guess what it is you are drawing! As you progress you will collect coins and eventually can buy more colours to allow you to draw better and more detailed pictures! A good way to spend some time, although it does require an active internet connection! There is a free version which is filled with advertising and a limited amount of words but if you fork over the 79c to buy it you will get 400 coins and a advertising free experience! I take points from it due to the fact it tends to give you a lot of stupid words that aren't in the average day vocabulary!

3. Angry Birds: Always a winner for killing time. Highly addictive and can really make the time (and angry little birds) fly! The story is that some little green pigs were told to steal your eggs by their king and your goal is to get them back! Along the way you will collect more birds for your team and with each bird having a different ability it can get quite exciting and difficult! The game can be played for 5 minutes of for hours, it is a great way to kill time! Whilst there are many Angry Birds games I will only link the latest game (Angry Birds: Space) but you can get all of them in the market place! These games lose some points due to the fact that it is sometimes near impossible to get 3 stars in some levels. I have also reviews Angry Birds: Space, you can see that by clicking here

2. Temple Run: This game has me hooked! It's a free game and the premise is simple; Run. Your goal is simply to run as far as you can! You must avoid obstacles and keep 3 manic demonic monkey-like creatures from catching you! You can get power ups which will help enhance your experience and keep you safe, but to do that you must spend some coin! You collect coins as you are running so the further you run the more likely it is you will make a lot of coin! You can then spend it on characters, power ups and enhancing your power-ups to make them do more for you! The whole experience is extremely addictive and you can compete against your friends scores too which makes it far more exciting! It does begin to get on your nerves after a while if you over-play it like I did, but if you play it as a quick-fix then it is beyond perfect!

1. Jetpack Joyride: This game is extremely like Temple Run with the exception that it is a side-scroller. You have just stollen a Machine-Gun powered Jetpack and your goal is to make it as far as possible. You collect power ups and money as you go and you can also collect coins which allow you to use a slot machine after you die which can give you money, bring you back to life or explode your corpse into the distance to give you a higher score! This game has all my attention right now, it is a great distraction! The sound effects are great, the graphics are fantastic and it is an all-round full game to play! I can find no fault with this game!

Angry Birds: Space

"Angry Birds: Space" landed in the app store this morning so, naturally, the first thing I did was roll out of bed, grab my phone and head to space! Immediately I was in love with the new graphics, gravity concepts and (of course) the new Angry Bird designs! The first mission is a pretty seamless tutorial for the new space system! The series has always had a great flow and system of operation and "Angry Birds: Space" is no exception. There is no issues learning how to play it and adjusting to the new challenges. Their physics engine always seemed so smooth and natural in previous games but this time everything has been completely enhanced in order to make the game look better, play better, and feel like a whole new breed of bird tossing.

I played for roughly two hours and only got to level 22, so, needless to say the levels are as complex as always. I played each level repeatedly until I got 3 stars as I did with "Angry Birds: Rio", "Angry Birds: Seasons" and the original "Angry Birds" and as with each of its predecessors I have gotten insanely frustrated and angry at the game several times as I attempted to foil those stubborn pigs' plans to steal my valued space eggs! Ignoring the fact that these birds and little green pigs have gotten to space and somehow mastered the power of gravity, these space creatures have won me over! I cannot stop playing (even as I write this I am still taking breaks intermittently to crush some pigs' hopes and dreams of the perfect omelet) and I am happy to report that the Angry Birds saga has not lost it's touch. I find that with each game they get somewhat bigger and better but this is by far their biggest and 'bestest' yet.

I cannot stress enough how good this game is. Its graphics are better than ever, its physics engine is flowing smoother than I have ever seen and the sounds are fun! The satisfaction of getting 3 stars is also better now with their new sound system. With each star you also get a specific sound and when you get all 3 stars, all the sounds run into a sequence, which will create a very satisfying melody! However, when you fail to collect all 3 stars there is a certain empty feeling in your heart due to the lack of melody components, but that pushes you that much harder to try for your 3 stars! If you have not played Angry Birds before, then now is the time to start and this is the game to start with! If you wish a direct link to download it in the Irish iTunes store, then click here! This game comes highly KJBcast approved! Unfortunatly they do try to charge you again to unlock the next section so it loses a lot of points there for trying to swipe more money from the average Angry Birds addict.
