Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 banned In The EU

So Massive news today! A German court has ruled that an existing ban on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 that prevented the device from being sold in the country should be extended across the entire European Union.

This will have huge implications for Samsung although they release a statement regarding the court ruling:

Samsung is disappointed with the court’s ruling. We will continue to take all available measures, including legal action, to protect our intellectual property rights and defend against Apple’s claims to ensure our products remain available to consumers throughout the European Union.

Luckily for Samsung their larger Galaxy Tab 10.1N can remain on sale. The court stated that the design was distinct enough from the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 that the original injunction ought not to apply. They welcomed the news by stating:

Samsung welcomes the court’s ruling which confirms our position that the GALAXY Tab 10.1N does not infringe Apple’s intellectual property and does not infringe laws against unfair competition. Should Apple continue to make legal claims based on such a generic design patent, design innovation and progress in the industry could be restricted.

It seems apple has a bone to pick with everyone lately, Samsung maybe right in saying that its going to hold back innovation. The whole industry needs to wake up and the handbags have to stop. We at KJBcast are pretty sure everyone is fed up with hearing that one company is suing another. What do you think?
