Normand Corbeil, Heavy Rain Composer, Passes Away

Award-winning French Canadian composer Normand Corbeil, known in gaming for his soundtrack for Heavy Rain, has passed away after battling with pancreatic cancer. He was 56 years old. Quantic Dream said in a statement:

"Normand was not only one of the most talented composers of his generation; he was a formidable person, kind and humble"

Corbeil's son Laurent said that his father died Friday after a six-month fight with pancreatic cancer. Corbeil was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 and again in 2006 for his music composition on Hitler: The Rise of Evil and Human Trafficking, respectively. His Heavy Rain score earned him the top music accolade at the 2011 British Academy Video Games Awards for Original Music.
