Following the announcement of the Xbox One, Microsoft have announced that the Kinect for Windows team is announcing the company will deliver a new Kinect for Windows sensor next year.

Both new sensors—the new Kinect sensor and the new Kinect for Windows sensor—will be built on a shared set of technologies. Delivering better precision and intuitive responsiveness, the new Kinect for Windows sensor will include: higher fidelity, an expanded field of view, improved skeletal tracking, and all-new active infrared. In the coming months, the team will continue to unveil more details on the new Kinect for Windows sensor and SDK, beginning with Microsoft’s BUILD 2013 event at the end of June.
