Minecraft: PC Version 1.3 update

Minecraft has finally released an update for the PC version of Minecraft. This update adds (in addition to the many bug fixes) new items like red-stone tripwire, ender chests, cocoa beans, LAN support, Adventure Mode, trading and much more.

Adventure Mode allows players to craft their own stories and adventures for other players by using a new block, called a Redstone Command Block, that allows designers to program scripted events. A simple example would be a standard fetch quest where a player would go get something for experience. How complex the adventures get will depend on the Minecraft user that programs the block.

As part of the Adventure mode, players can trade with Villagers to buy and sell items or even enchant items using the newly added emeralds. This is important because players will not be able to destroy or place blocks while in Adventure mode.

The 1.3 update also adds a demo mode that lets non-subscribers try the game out for five days per world in single-player. The most significant addition, however, is the complete and total removal of single player. You’ll still be able to play without your friends, frienemies or enemies tagging alongside – the game is simply adopting a new system that involves centering every aspect on server-support. As such, the game client will run an internal server that will act as a single-player mode.

The update is available for any and all desiring Minecraft players – all you have to do is open up the game and let the update download. Here is a list of things changed with the new update. Enjoy!
