Square Enix have announced a new feature in Hitman: Absolution, titled Contracts! This online mode allows you to create and share their own custom challenges within the game. Choose levels, targets, weapons, and set rules for finishing a contract based on time, style, and witnesses.
They promise that this is all very easy to set up, no complicated editors or coding. It's as simple as play and create and you can compete with your friends at any time, regardless of whether they are online. In addition to creating your own, Hitman: Absolution will also come with many pre-made "contracts" that were designed by the very best assassins at IO Interactive. Christian Elverdam, gameplay director for Hitman: Absolution, said:
“CONTRACTS was inspired by our loyal and extremely creative fans, many of whom are still finding new and amazing ways of taking out targets in previous Hitman games. CONTRACTS mode finally delivers a way for Hitman players to fully realize both their creativity and competitive nature. Whether they’re fighting to shave off a split second from their time or combining elements and timing events to create unprecedented accidental deaths, gamers can now challenge and inspire each another with an endless variety of user-generated contracts.”
When you complete a contract, you're rewarded in contract dollars dependent on how well you perform. You can unlock new disguises, weapons, and technqiues by playing through the story mode or spending your hard-earned contract dollars. This allows you to create more sophisticated and creative challenges to compete with others!
Hitman: Absolution is scheduled for release across North America, Europe and PAL territories on November 20th, 2012 for the PlayStation®3, Xbox 360®, Windows PC.
