Hearthstone: Goblin vs Gnomes Update Adds 100+ Cards

Hearthstone fans, get ready for some fireworks! Hearthstone: Goblins vs Gnomes will arrive this December, bringing over 120 new cards for you to collect. Start saving your precious gold coins now! Get a sneak-peak of some of the upcoming explosive mechanical inventions in the trailer below!

Finally, you’ll be able to settle the age-old question of which is better: the measured, careful ingenuity of the gnomes, or the trademark goblin fearlessness in the face of incredibly volatile and spectacularly explosive inventions. You'll also control mechanical creations of gnomish and goblin origin, and these Mechs bring tons of special weapons and powers of their own to the table!

The new expansion brings with it an all-new minion type—Mechs. These quirky contraptions will add a spring-loaded punch to your game!

Gnomes: Tinkerers and inventors who create brilliant, wondrous devices. Tiny and ingenious, they’re sometimes too smart for their own good. Gnomes live to create technological marvels like clockwork robots or their many and varied ray guns.

Goblins: Fiercely crafty and never afraid of an accidental explosion, goblins are accomplished engineers, as evidenced by hallmark inventions like the Flamecannon or the Sky Golem. But don’t think goblins don’t appreciate a good explosion; just ask their Blastmages or a typical Bomb Lobber.

Once the expansion is released, all new cards will become available immediately. Cards for Goblins vs Gnomes will be available through the Shop and the Arena, as well as crafting. Goblins vs Gnomes cards will be sold in their own card packs, separate from 'classic' cards. Goblins vs Gnomes card packs will cost the same as expert card packs, both in gold and real money.

Goblins vs Gnomes cards can be crafted and disenchanted using Arcane Dust, the same as classic cards. Once the expansion launches, all card pack rewards from Arena will be for the new expansion. This means that players will no longer be able to obtain 'classic' card packs from Arena. However, single cards may be from classic or Goblins vs Gnomes.

All new cards will be available as Arena picks as soon as the expansion is released, regardless of whether or not the player has yet collected them. All currently existing card packs are expert card packs. They will not be converted into Goblins vs Gnomes packs upon release, meaning players have no reason not to open them now. There are no basic cards in Goblins vs Gnomes, although it has not been stated whether there are any reward cards.

Alongside Goblins vs Gnomes, Blizzard are introducing Spectator mode so you and your friends can observe each others’ explosive battles, fiery strategies, and hard-won victories. If someone on your friends list is playing and has allowed spectators (enabled by default), you can jump into your pal’s game and watch right away!

Look out for the new update in December.
