The question “Are free to play games feasible on the Xbox console and if they would ever happen?” may have just been answered. Happy Wars will be first FTP game to hit the Xbox and is set to arrive this fall.
There is no set release date for the game. But we have some details of the game itself. Happy Wars will be available to all Xbox Live Gold members. The game boasts that it will support up to 30 players in a single battle and, of course, the creators plan on making money through Micro transactions. Interestingly you can buy lavishly rendered items for your character to flaunt your originality on the field of valor.
Happy Wars is a multi-player action game with comical characters battling in over-the-top combat arenas. Players can assume any of 3 types of roles. Warrior, Mage or Cleric. The Game is set in a variety of battlefields including fantastic grasslands, a dark world, and the ocean floor as you play you extend your territory by occupying the scattered bases, and cooperating with friends to attacking castles. For offline fun, the player can take on missions in the solo campaign mode.
Happy Wars is looking like it will be a lot of fun and if all goes well it will set the bar for future free to play games on the Xbox.
