The end of Halo 3 found the Master Chief deep in cryogenic sleep, drifting toward a mysterious Forerunner planet, with Cortana instructed to wake him if she needs him. You can now consider his alarm clock officially set because Halo 4, the game that marks the much anticipated return of legendary hero Master Chief, will launch worldwide on November 6, 2012.
Halo 4 will also feature two new vehicles and ten new weapons and if that’s not enough for all you Halo fans, Halo 4’s spin-off of Spec-Ops (Spartan-Ops) is going to feature 12 incremental hours of game play spread across 50 missions. That is an incredible amount of game play and you still have the campaign and multiplayer coupled with Microsoft’s SmartGlass. This game is going to be massive and it keeps on getting bigger. Here is a small gameplay trailer for Spartan-Ops:
We tried our best to live-tweet this during E3 but words just could not do it justice. We have put together the official trailer and then a gameplay video for your viewing pleasure!
343 studios have outdone themselves. This game looks and sounds fantastic and we honestly cannot wait to have it!
There will be a console bundle is available for pre-order now and will arrive in stores alongside the game on November 6. The package includes a custom-designed console and two controllers with Halo 4 decals, as well as a blue ring of light on the controller and the console itself. Also included is a standard edition copy of Halo 4, a wired headset, a 320GB hard drive and Xbox Live tokens for Halo 4 in-game and avatar marketplace downloadable content.
Microsoft has also revealed a standalone Halo 4 wireless controller with the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) emblem on it. It will also include an Avatar T-shirt as exclusive downloadable content and the blue ring of light. The controller will set you back £39.99.
Beginning a series of looks at Halo 4’s new, returning, and revised weapons, Halo Waypoint kicks off the sequence with a video examining the familiar, and occasionally surprising, human weapons used by the Master Chief and the rest of the UNSC. Below you can see and hear the weapons in action, and get some insight into the objective tech specs, subjective impressions, and advice about how and when to use them from the game’s developers and staff.
