Gas Powered Games Lays Off Over 90% of Staff

Just four days after launching the Kickstarter campaign for Wildman, Gas Powered Games has laid off nearly its entire staff. Gas Powered Games is the developer responsible for creating the Dungeon Siege series, Supreme Commander and Age of Empires Online.

Evidently four sources have come forward saying that almost everyone at the company has been laid off. Gas Powered Games CEO and Total Annihilation creator Chris Taylor confirmed that there has been a layoff, but he hasn't revealed its severity just yet.

Everyone except for CEO Chris Taylor and one or two people have been let go. According to the Gas Powered Games website, the company employs over 60 people, so it’s quite a huge deal.

Chris Taylor issued a statement saying:

"We do have a layoff, and we'll be updating our Kickstarter as well with details. I'm way behind, so many wonderful people to talk to and share stories with, so it just takes time. It's actually been a fairly positive experience, because I run a very open company and everyone knows what's going on."

Chris Taylor posted this video to the kickstarter page. This seems like some desperate plea to get attention to their kickstarter, as far as we're concerned. If he truly was only posting this as a way to get his point across, he would of posted it the their website, instead.
