The short lived free-to-play, browser-based MMO Family Guy Online will shut down on January 18, 2013. Based on Fox's popular animated series, the MMO will remain in an open beta state until its shut down date. There will be no official release of this, and so far there has been no explination as in to why. But if Fox could cancel Firefly, then they can probably cancel a video game, too. Silly Fox.
As posted on Family Guy Online's official site, anyone who made in-game purchases within the last 60 days will be refunded. All refunds should be issued early next year, and if they aren't then the site wants you to contact their support address.
We received confirmation through FGO support that this is not simply an open beta end date, but a permanent shut down.
