Bethesda has released a new trailer for the upcoming MMO ‘The Elder Scrolls: Online’. The new trailer focuses on the three groups that are present in the game. The ‘Aldmeri Dominion’, the ‘Daggerfall Covenant’, and the ‘Ebonheart Pact’.
All three of these factions are locked in combat, though as Bethesda says, “that was not always the case”.
As with other games in The Elder Scrolls franchise, the game will be set in the continent of Tamriel and feature a storyline not connected with the other games. The game will be set a millennium before the events of the previous game in the series, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, with the Daedric Prince Molag Bal appearing as the main antagonist as he attempts to conquer all of Tamriel.
The Elder Scrolls Online has been in development for 5 years prior to its announcement in May 2012. It is the first project for ZeniMax Online Studios, which was formed in 2007. Matt Firor, studio lead at Zenimax Online, is also the director of The Elder Scrolls Online.
Bethesda has confirmed an Elder Scrolls Online release date window of 2013 on PC and Mac.
