Codemasters Announce New Game

The great people at Codemasters (check out our Codemasters Competition) are releasing a whole new project with a similar feel for the whole family! They have announced kart racer from the studio that makes the F1 games called F1 Race Stars.

Codemasters has transformed some of the world's most famous drivers – including Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel – into what it's referring to as "personality-packed heroes".

Similarly, iconic F1 circuits, from Silverstone to Monaco, have been reimagined as "over-the-top tracks built for super-charged speed". The game will also have power-ups for players to collect and use against their opponents, sort of like Mario Kart.

The game will support 4-player split-screen racing and a 12-player competition mode, in addition to an "extensive career mode" containing a number of Championships. The game is being developed at Codemasters Racing Studio in Birmingham, UK, where the publisher's award-winning series of Formula One games are made. Also, the same branch of the company who happens to be sponsoring our new competition!

Chris Gray, Senior Producer of F1 Race Stars, said:

“We’re really excited to bring the whole cast of FORMULA ONE into a fun new world of racing. We’ve really let our Art and Design teams off the leash to bring F1 stars’ personalities alive in a new way and create a game where racing fans of all ages can jump into all-action solo, split-screen and online multiplayer races. It’s the game we’ve wanted to create for a long time."

F1 Race Stars will be released this November.
