Suicide Squad Trailer Officially Released

Following the massive reaction to the Comic Con showing of the Suicide Squad trailer, Warner Brothers has finally released trailer for the world to see, in full HD.

The entire Suicide Squad team made an appearance at the Comic-Con panel, and the first teaser trailer was shown. Director David Ayer said he found the trailer on the Internet, showing the audience a first glimpse of what’s coming in August 2016.

You get a first look at each of the characters separately for the first time. What are your thoughts and opinions? Let us know in the comments below. Enjoy the trailer!

Top Gun 2 Confirmed

Kick the tires, and light the fires! It appears Tom Cruise's character Maverick's need for speed will be fulfilled once again in Top Gun 2.

There were talks of a sequel to the incredible 1986 film around 2010. Tom Cruise was attached to the project, but not much more was known. In 2012, he and Top Gun director Tony Scott scouted locations for the sequel. In August of that year, Scott died at age 68.

Justin Marks is writing the screenplay right now. He has a phenomenal take to really update that world for what fighter pilots in the Navy has turned into today.

There is an amazing role for Maverick in the movie and there is no Top Gun without Maverick, and it is going to be Maverick playing Maverick. It is I don’t think what people are going to expect, and we are very, very hopeful that we get to make the movie very soon. But like all things, it all comes down to the script, and Justin is writing as we speak.
— Co-producer and Skydance CEO David Ellison

Cruise has not commented about Top Gun 2. It is unclear if fellow past co-stars such as Val Kilmer or Kelly McGillis, who played Cruise's love interest, will reprise their roles. In 2014, co-producer Jerry Bruckheimer talked about the movie and how it will incorporate more advanced military aircraft, so it is likely they will be way more up to date with this movie and it won't be a direct continuation.

Technology has changed obviously since we made the first one. So, I think we’re going to take advantage of what the world is like today, you know with the drones really kind of taking over in a lot of our wars...Is the pilot obsolete? No, I don’t think so...we’re going to hopefully highlight both worlds.
— Jerry Bruckheimer

Look forward to more information on the movie soon.

James Gunn Says Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Will Be Different

James Gunn has been promising new and exciting changes ahead for Guardians of the Galaxy. He has been calling the sequel an overall more emotional movie. Considering they dropped hints to Starlord's father in the previous title, which plays a huge part in the comics, it is likely it will be about this storyline.

Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Starlord) said that James Gunn’s idea for the sequel actually brought tears to the actor’s eyes. Of course he wasn’t able to divulge any further details, but it sounds like it will be an amazing story.

I will say that his pitch and his idea legitimately put tears in my eyes. It is so good, it’s so good. And I cannot wait to get started on it and I cannot wait for people to see what he’s going to pull off with the second movie. It’s so, so big and so good.
— Chris Pratt
Well I think I’ve said so much already... I think it’s a more emotional movie. It’s both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we focus more intensely on some of the characters. We learn a lot about fathers in the second movie and I think we focus a lot on that.
— James Gunn

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to release on May 5, 2017.

Phew. After 48 days straight without a day off, the the first draft of #GotG2 is done. I'm sorry to all my friends and family who I have ignored.

Jared Leto Sends Creepy Gifts to Suicide Squad Co-Stars

Well, this is certainly a weird story to wake up to. Jared Leto has snapped and given in to the Joker, the character he is playing in the upcoming Suicide Squad. Leto is a renowned method actor. He goes 100% in to each role, and devotes his life to it. When we heard he was playing the Joker we figured he would either end up in jail, dead or the real life Clown Prince of Crime in New York or something. Thankfully his psychotic snap seems to have just been to send unusual gifts to his co-stars.

Adam Beach (Who will play Slipknot in the movie) told incredibly strange stories about Jared Leto’s various gifts for his co-stars. These gifts included bullets for Will Smith, a love letter for Margot Robbie that came with a black box and a live rat, because what better way to show your love for someone? He has sorted my anniversary gift ideas, anyway. Beach explained that Leto also made a video for the entire cast, which wasn't much less insane than his gifts.

Basically, what he said was, ‘Guys, I can’t be there but I want you to know I’m doing my work as hard as you guys. The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real. … He encompasses this beautiful man and he shows it in, ‘Hello, how are you?’ But in an instant, he goes to psychotic behavior where you’re in fear. But you love him because he has both of those genuine sides.
— Adam Beach

I think we will stay away from Leto's Christmas gift's for a while. He's crazy, but we love him. He will absolutely shatter everybody's expectations of the Joker. Catch him and the rest of the cast of Suicide Squad in 2016.

First Look at Jared Leto as The Joker

Well, that highly anticipated moment is here. This is our first official look at Jared Leto as The Joker from the upcoming movie, Suicide Squad.  The film also stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. But it’s obvious that the film’s key element is the debut of this version of the Joker which will remain in the ongoing DC Cinematic Universe.

After a month of false alarms and fuzzy leaked photos-of-photos, directed David Ayer has dropped an official photo of our new big-screen Joker.

Today is the 75th anniversary of the comic book debut of The Joker in the first issue of Batman, so today is a great day to reveal Leto's character style. You can see the picture below. It is clearly going to be a rougher take on the iconic mastermind.

Update: Jared Leto is apparently sporting a different look on set. His skin has no tattoos, and there are no grills in his mouth. Apparently, his skin is covered in scars, presumably those he received from facing off against the Batman. If the tattoos will feature a role in the movie at all is unclear.

Spider-Man is Now Part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Spider-Man is officially going to part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A brief background story may be required for some of our readers. Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man and have since the movie franchise took off with Toby Maguire. This unfortunately meant that no reference to Spider-Man could be made in a Marvel movie, as they simply did not own the rights. However, now a deal has been announced between Sony Pictures and Marvel that will see a new version of the web slinger appear in an as-yet-unspecified movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the same universe that contains Iron Man, Thor, and the rest of the Avengers.

It would be logical that we see him in Captain America: Civil War as he plays such an important role in that comic book.

The agreement doesn't mean that Sony is giving up the movie rights to the character. In fact, they are gaining some rights in the process. The studio will continue to finance, distribute, own, and have "final creative control" of standalone Spider-Man films, but Marvel Studios will be coming in to co-produce the next entry, now slated for July 28th, 2017. Sony Pictures said it was also "exploring opportunities to integrate characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe into future Spider-Man films."

Under the deal, the new Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel film from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU). Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017, in a film that will be co-produced by Kevin Feige and his expert team at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. Together, they will collaborate on a new creative direction for the web slinger. Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.

Marvel and Sony Pictures are also exploring opportunities to integrate characters from the MCU into future Spider-Man films.

The new relationship follows a decade of speculation among fans about whether Spider-Man – who has always been an integral and important part of the larger Marvel Universe in the comic books – could become part of the Marvel Universe on the big screen. Spider-Man has more than 50 years of history in Marvel’s world, and with this deal, fans will be able to experience Spider-Man taking his rightful place among other Super Heroes in the MCU.
— Marvel

The downside is, of course, that a new actor will be selected to play Spider-Man in the upcoming Marvel role. We, however, would LOVE to see Andrew Garfield take up the role. Whether or not he will continue as Spider-Man at all is unclear, but it is likely he won't be put in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel has changed their entire schedule in the wake of the news, fitting the untitled new Spider-Man film where the next Thor film had originally been scheduled. While it's not clear who will be playing Spider-Man in his first Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance, in a statement Sony does refer to him as "the new Spider-Man,". Should we get an entirely new Spider-Man, it'd be the third movie reboot in fifteen years for the superhero.

First Look at Sir Ian McKellen as Mr. Holmes

Sir Ian McKellen has just debuted the first teaser poster from the upcoming Mr. Holmes. McKellen stars as an aging Sherlock Holmes.

The film, based on the novel “A Slight Trick of the Mind” by Mitch Cullin, was adapted for the screen by Jeffrey Hatcher and starts in 1947 when an aging Holmes returns from Japan, where, in search of a plant with powerful restorative qualities, he has witnessed the devastation of nuclear warfare. Now in his remote seaside farmhouse Holmes faces the end of his days tending to his bees with only the company of his housekeeper and her young son, Roger. Grappling with the diminishing powers of his mind, Holmes comes to rely upon the boy as he revisits an unsolved case which forced him into retirement, and searches for answers to the mysteries of life and love – before it’s too late.

Hunger Games Prequel and Sequel Possibilities

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has confirmed that the studio are actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities for the Hunger Games franchise.

It is unclear what this means for the future of the books, or the future of the franchise itself, but more will be announced soon. In the meantime, you can see The Hunger Games: Mockingly - Part 2 in the cinema on November 20th.

Part 2 is the final part of the story (for now, possibly), with the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

Christ Pratt Lives Up To Bet With Chris Evans

As some of you may know, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Chris Evans (Captain America) made a bet on the Super Bowl. They each bet on a team and whoever lost had to go to a children's hospital dressed as their respective characters, Star Lord and Captain America. Pratt rooted for the Seahawks, while Evans sided with the winning Patriots.

After the bet went viral, fans of the two Marvel Chrises raised a total of nearly $27,000 for Seattle Children’s Hospital and Christopher’s Haven.

Pratt made good on his bet by visiting Christopher’s Haven in his Guardians Of The Galaxy Star-Lord ensemble. Evans went along with him, and both Pratt and the hospital shared the adorable photos on Facebook. You can check out the pictures below.

Hobbit Actor Joins Pirates of the Caribbean 5

Three more have joined the cast of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, including Adam Brown (Ori of “The Hobbit” films), along with Delroy Atkinson (Still Crazy) and Danny Kirrane (I Shouldn't Be Alive).

Johnny Depp is once again reprising his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow, while Geoffrey Rush will be returning as Captain Barbossa. Javier Bardem is set to play the film’s villain, Captain Brand, Brenton Thwaites will play British soldier Henry in the film, and Kaya Scodelario will play Henry’s love interest. Unconfirmed rumours also indicate the return of Orlando Bloom’s William Turner.

The fifth installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise will be directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. The film is slated to be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.

Ryan Reynolds Says Deadpool Won't Be Like Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds has spoken out about the upcoming Deadpool movie, and has said that it will not take the path that Green Lantern has. Reynold's then admitted that a major part of Green Lantern's problem was the lack of a screenplay from day one.

Fortunately, Deadpool has a script that has been leaked online and embraced by fans, alongside some test footage.

When we shot Green Lantern, nobody auditioning for the role of Green Lantern was given the opportunity to read the script, because the script didn’t exist. I’m not complaining about it — it was an opportunity of a lifetime, and if I were to go back and retrace my steps, I would probably do everything the exact same way.

We’ve had a [Deadpool] script for three years. The script got leaked, and people even loved that. That says a lot — if you can create a script around a comic-book character that is directly within the canon of the character and be embraced. That’s a huge step in the right direction. I’ve since learned that a lot of superhero movies don’t really have a fully functioning draft of the screenplay ready until they’re already well into shooting.
— Ryan Reynolds

Deadpool will be directed by Tim Miller and Reynolds will be returning to play the role he first debuted in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The movie will begin filming in Vancouver next month. For now, though, you can see some test footage below.
